How to Play Your Pocket Rockets

As a poker player myself, I understand the trickiness of playing pocket pairs. Even when you start the round with an amazingly strong starting hand such as a pocket pair of Aces – or pocket rockets – you must still proceed with caution and plan your moves accordingly. In order to play your pocket pair of Aces effectively, follow this next steps we are going to discuss in this article.

If you are confident enough and are willing to risk some of your poker bankroll, the best way to go is to raise the bet pre-flop and eliminate the number of opponents early. You can also set a trap and lure your opponents into betting more by limping through the pre-flop, but you are also allowing your opponents to develop their hands further.

The ideal situation would be to have the flop shows another Ace; of course, this is not always the case. If the flop doesn’t reveal an extra Ace or two, you should assess the relative strength of your pocket pair of Aces first before betting further. Determine the strongest possible hand that can be constructed with the community cards and observe your opponents’ betting pattern carefully.

Repeat the previous steps after seeing the turn and the river. Only raise the bet when you are confident about the strength of your pocket pair of Aces, otherwise don’t hesitate to limp or fold. You will win the pot money easily this way while still keeping your risks at the minimum level.
